Enjoying some classic George while getting some things ready for Wednesday night. Can’t wait!
Hey everyone. Jonathan here. I just want to take a second and thank everyone for making 2011 a great year. We’ve had a great time getting this band going. It’s been terrifying and exciting all at the same time. This is the most creatively fulfilling thing I’ve ever been a part of, and I couldn’t be prouder.
From our humble beginnings writing songs with Stephen in our houses, to making an ep that we truly love, to teaming up with our drummer Chris and our bassist Brian (also my brother), this has been so much fun so far.
We just spent a few days turning my house into a recording studio, and cut 3 new tunes. We’ll be putting them out at some point next year, not sure when yet, but we’re really happy with them. They’re the first time we’ve all heard what the 4 of us sound like on record. As soon as the time is right, we’ll give them to you.
We’ve got shows coming up, more being planned, and all kinds of things on the horizon for the new year. The future is completely wide open, and we can’t wait to see where it takes us.
To all of you who’ve been so supportive and enjoyed our stuff, thank you so much. We wish you all the best in 2012. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!
Love,
The Breton Sound
So we decided to start work on a couple of new songs. Our buddy Woods Drinkwater, who produced the great album “The People That Come And Go” by fellow local band Mynameisjohnmichael, had been asking if we wanted to do something together, and while he’s back in NOLA for the holidays, we decided to see if we could knock out new tune with him. A little something to keep in the pocket for the future.

We tracked drums for a new tune called “Standing On The Edge Of The World.” Doing it all at home, much like the first demos Stephen and I did for the ep. Only we’ve got more stuff at our disposal and Woods knows what he’s doing.

I tried to get Woods to mic the Christmas tree, but no dice. Anyway.
Chris crushed his tracks. We actually ended up laying down two more drum tracks. Dunno what we’re doing with these songs, or when we’ll put them out yet.
We’ll get together again after Christmas to do some guitars and vocals. Good stuff. Hooray!!
